The National Organization for Medicines (EOF) – public entity of the Ministry of Health – is developing a database for Manufacturers, Importers and Distributors of Medical Devices in Greece.
Currently, the pre-market registration of Medical Devices is carried out sending to the Competent Authority (the EOF) the general information about the medical device, the product label and instructions for use (in Greek language) by e-mail.
The purpose of the database is to automate the registration procedure of the Medical Devices. As a consequence, it will be easier to control the Medical Devices that are marketed in Greece, by simplifying the activities of compliance assessment and vigilance management.
At the moment, the EOF is working on this project but it has already disclosed the database implementation plan.
