What does the CDRH do?

The CDRH (Center for Devices and Radiological Health) is an organization within the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) responsible for regulating electronic products emitting radiation. While the CDRH regulates the manufacture of these products, the State regulates their use.

The CDRH aims to protect the public from hazardous and unnecessary exposure to radiation emitted by electronic products, which is why it requires manufacturers of such products to keep records and submit specific informative Reports, as specified in 21 CFR 1002.
