On March 15, the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) published the draft Guidance for Public Procurement of Medical Devices, which proposes new thresholds for foreign manufacturers participating in tenders for medical device supplies in the public sector.

Compared to the previous 2017 Ordinance, percentages change from an average of 50% to a lower level, ranging from 25% to 40%, depending on the device.

Meanwhile, the Indian Regulatory Authority keeps on collecting in-depth data on the local production of Medical Devices, specifically analyzing the production processes and the comparison with international competitors.

Interested parties can submit their comments by filling out the appropriate forms attached to the guidance.
